ContactThe WorkCover Board Tasmania established the Advisory Service in 2007 as part of its strategy to improve work health and safety through providing consultative, educative, informative and advisory initiatives.
The Advisory Service continues to build its reputation as a valued and trusted source of free work, health and safety information for small and medium-sized businesses.
The primary role of the Advisory Service is to improve the safety and health performance of small and medium-sized businesses by providing advice that is practical and relevant to them. This is mainly delivered through free workplace visits, where an experienced Advisor visits a business and provides one-on-one advice to the business owner or manager. After the initial visit, a written report of the Advisor’s observations and identified areas of improvement is provided. The owner/manager is then offered a second visit (approximately three months later) to discuss any issues that have arisen while addressing those areas identified for improvement in the first visit.
The Advisory Service also supports businesses by participating in presentations, trade shows and conferences.
