ContactThis WorkCover Board Tasmania project acknowledges the devastating impact that industrial death and serious injury can have on those affected. The project’s ultimate goal is to better support seriously injured workers and the grieving families of loved ones in difficult times.
The project has determined what actions are required to improve the support to seriously injured workers and families affected by a workplace death. This includes changes to the systems and approaches of WorkSafe Tasmania, and ensuring Safe Work Australia’s ‘National principles to support families following an industrial death’ are addressed.
The Board provided funding for the development of the Framework in 2022-23, and ongoing funding for the implementation of the framework and its recommendations.
